This river run starts out from the Old Shorehan Road outside Ricardo Engineering. The route is a nice easy run along the banks of the Adur for roughly 9km but can easily be shortened but out and back type runs on both sides of river the East side using a well made path so would be good in poor conditions.
3 – Slinfold – 11km
This route takes you along the downslink and around Rudgwick for just slightly over 10km. The route starts at the location of the now demolished Slinfold Station where parking for 4 or 5 cars can be found just past the Caravan and Motor home site on the right. Heading west from the parking location the route follows the along the downslink trail.
2 – Loxwood – 13km
This has to be one of my favourite runs as there is something for everyone, the route starts out at the Onslow Arms in Loxwood and runs along side the the Wey & Arun Junction canal and into the forestry commission land at Sydney Wood.
1 – Cissbury Ring – 11km
Starting out at Storrington Rise car park this approximate 10.5km run takes you round the base of the Iron Age fort Cissbury Ring and ends by going to the top where you can be rewarded with fantastic views of the Weald basin and out to sea over Worthing. Once you have taken your fill of the view then it’s back down to the car park to complete the run. The paths are all in good condition and the area is maintained by the national trust.
