8 – Storrington – 7.5km

This route was suggested by Rhianwen F.

Starting out right on the top of the South Downs at the end of Chantry Lane, Storrington the views here are worth the effort of putting on running shoes and getting out the door.

Using in part the South Downs way the trails are all well maintained and sign posted.  Heading up the hill to the east and following the trail up and over Barnsfarm Hill where we head south towards Worthing along a wooded path which brings you out by Windlesham House School. Once by the school there is about a 750m section along a very quite road up the hill.

Once at the top the road it bares away left and picks up the footpaths again to the right and head back to the Downs. Continuing up the hill and following the trail the views open up and taking a few moments look back you can see Cissbury and Chanctonbury Ring to the east is well worth a few minutes breath.

Setting off again the trail will join the South Downs Way where the last Km or so is thankfully down hill and back to parking site. The route is around 7.5km but this can easily be extended using the many trails and footpaths which cover the South Downs National Park.
