This route takes you into the National Trust owned Petworth Park, the route leads you round the majestic 700 acre deer park designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. The route starts out from the Deer Park car park along the A283 where a small charge is required for parking which goes towards the upkeep of the park.
There is ample water on route as the trails take you past a number of lakes, if like my trusty hound your dog likes to chase then a line is a must due to the free roaming deer which given the name of the car park should come as no surprise.
This is a beatiful route at any time of year, the car park opens a 8am and does get very busy.
