This is a lovely 11km loop starting out from the Onslow Arms in Loxwood. Parking is freely available using the Wey & Arun canal car park this route starts out heading east towards Drungewick.
Following the canal for a short distance the route crosses the first bridge you find and traverses north along marked footpaths where you will cross over the Loxwood Road. Across the road and back on to the footpaths you will cross a couple of stiles and into some beautiful woodlands. This area is crossed with many paths if you are happier just exploring though this route continues on to join the Surrey/Sussex border path and continues north.
If the route is being followed then you will find yourself crossing through the grounds of the Rikkyo School. Having followed the path through the grounds and located the stile and dog portal the route takes you back south towards Tismans Common. On route you will pass a number of homes the you should bare left along the main driveway. Upon reaching the main gate there is a short section of public highway though very secluded caution should be taken and there is ample verge to ensure pads and pooches are looked after.
By now we are heading east and upon hitting the footpath again and climb up a small hill the path left should be taken back south towards the Loxwood Road. Taking care crossing over the road the route again follows more well trodden footpaths though some woods and back south and across another bridge and back west along the canal to the starting point. The route in total is approximately 11Km there are a number of streams and if it has rained there are ample puddles our dogs love so much for doggy refreshment. Caution should be taken as there is often livestock in the surrounding fields.
